Ticket Rangoli

A temporary installation combining the traditional with the urban, East with West and approximately 400 recreated tickets from the last 2 years.  A rangoli is a traditional Indian art form, in which patterns are created on the floor or the ground using materials such as colored rice, dry flour, colored sand or flower petals. Often seen during festivals and auspicious times, Rangoli's are found at the entrance of a house as a sign of good luck and prosperity. This patterns is juxtaposed with the modern world, travel and transience, remembered and reiterated with the repetition of the re-created tickets.
